Search and Destroy - Valentina Cera

Valentina Cera is a quiet and thoughtful bobcat female raised among the nobles of the Calluvian Empire. During her youth she was educated at the finest schools within the Empire and due to her perceptive nature she made a natural fit for the Empire's intelligence unit; The Imperial Blue Guard (IBG). During a brief sabatical she went to a civilian research facility to visit an acquaintance from her school days and not fifteen minutes after was the facility attacked by the West Republic's elite SOWGRU unit. Valentina shielded her friend as an assault team used a breaching charge to enter the conference room they were located in; the blast destroyed the door and a piece of wood destroyed Valentina's left eye.

As Valentina lay bleeding and screaming in her friend's arms the attack suddenly ceased. Valentina whom had slipped into unconsciousness awoke to find herself being treated by a SOWGRU medic at the command of Trent MacLeod. Trent had discovered that his unit had unknowingly attacked a civilian research facility due to faulty intelligence provided by his government. As Trent comforted Valentina he promised her that he would "make things right" and that the world would know of the assault and the innocent deaths he caused.

A few weeks later as Valentina recovered in a hospital she watched (as did most of the world) as Trent testified before the West Republic's governing body about the mission as he promised. Valentina could see the sadness in his eyes and she wanted to help and understand him. During her period of recovery she earned a degree in psychology with the intent to eventually find and talk to the man that had made such a lasting impact on her life. Her plan was put on hold as the Calluvian Empire launched a surprise invasion on the West Republic and she was forced back into her old role among the IBG. Though the initial invasion was successful in the South an insurgency has taken hold in response to the Imperial military's heavy handed approach to pacification. Valentina and a small IBG team is sent to the South to both form a counter insurgency (COIN) strategy and also to target the insurgency's leaders.

Valentina does not speak much and often will casually observe people and her surroundings with her hands behind her back as shown here.
